IKIGAI MAP Workshop - What makes life worth living? with Ai Funato - Friday, August 28- 6-8:30PM - In Store

| /

In Japanese, IKIGAI(生きがい)describes the feeling of "this is why I'm alive" — found not in grand achievements, but in ordinary moments of joy, connection, and purpose. As life gets busier and louder, these moments become harder to hear. This workshop is a chance to pause, listen, and rediscover what makes your life genuinely yours.

In this 2 and a half hour interactive workshop, you'll explore the Japanese concept of IKIGAI through guided reflection, meaningful dialogue, and creative exercises.

Together, we will:

• Reflect on moments when you felt truly alive

• Explore the people, activities, and values that bring meaning to your life

• Share insights through conversation and small-group dialogue

• Create your own IKIGAI Map (vision board) - a personal compass for the next chapter of your life No artistic experience is needed.

Just bring your curiosity, your stories, and an open heart. Come discover the small moments, connections, and joys that make life worth living.

Profile | Ai Funato

To help create a world where money is no longer necessary—a world in which every life can flourish to its fullest potential, resources circulate naturally, and no one and nothing is left behind—Ai shifted her focus from business to "giveness" in July 2024.

Realizing that the key to this vision lies in IKIGAI (Meaning in Life), she committed herself to the path of an IKIGAI explorer. Through IKIGAI Media Lab, she shares research and insights on IKIGAI from around the world while creating spaces for connection and learning through interviews, dialogue circles, and public talks.

Born in Akashi City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, Ai moved to Los Angeles in 2007 and has been living in Vancouver, Canada, since 2010.

Her many earthly roles include copywriter, author, coach, public relations and facilitator for the AI Entrepreneur Hifumi Juku, and board member of WorldShift Network Japan.

Her favorite foods are croissants and Mont Blanc pastries. She enjoys words, singing, and hula dancing.

Her guiding motto is:

"The life of words is love."
