East West Bookshop is a cutting edge forum for new ideas in spiritual consciousness through live events, international speakers, book launches, sustainable and many handmade products to support your spiritual search, and other unique experiences.
In April of 2020, our current lease ends, and we are hoping to find a new location. As our vision grows, so do our needs as a non-profit business. We need your support as customers, and if possible as member-participants in order to continue our services to tens of thousands in this region.

East West Bookshop is a Washington State nonprofit organization but it is NOT tax-exempt under the Internal Revenue Service because the sale of books and gifts is not, by itself, a charitable activity. In the same way, receiving benefits in return (discounts) disallows a potential deduction. Besides, with recent changes in federal tax laws, fewer individuals are able to have a tax benefit from their donations. Volunteer - There are several ways in which you can become part of our team and help serve the community. We are looking for marketers, graphic/web designers, and help with offsite events. However, any regular time you can commit to covering the sales floor, cash register and customer service would be greatly appreciated so our limited staff can take care of business on the back end! Donate your Used Books- The East West used book selection is a beloved part of our store. In an effort to expand the selection, we are no longer buying used books and are now accepting donations only. Through customer contributions, we have already built a much more robust inventory in just the last couple of months and hope to continue this offering with your support. We are looking for books pertaining to consciousness, body and health, self-help, and Eastern/Western philosophy. Bring them by any time!
East West Street Team- Become a member of the EW Street Team. This involves the tried and true method of distributing our event guides and posters throughout the city. Pick a neighborhood to steward and maintain the supply of event guides and flyers. We have a list of over 100 locations that are perfect for postering!
