Ananda Yoga offers classic hatha postures with affirmations, pranayams (breathing techniques), and meditation. Typical class time is 1 hour and 15 minutes (except Fridays are 1 hour only): Centering/Meditation approx 5-10min, Warm ups 5-10min, yoga practice portion is approximately 45-50 minutes, Savasana/Closing meditation 5-10min. This class is for all levels as all poses can be modified to the students level and it is a slow paced/pose-by-pose class. Ananda Yoga is attentive to safety & alignment and modifying all poses to fit the student. Ananda Yoga emphasizes the mind/body connection, movement of energy, higher awareness, promoting calmness, relaxation & inner joy. Along with this safe and meditative practice comes strength and flexibility over time. A typical Ananda Yoga class uses the poses to refine self-awareness and experience inner peace. Ananda Yoga is unique in using affirmations, Energization Exercises, and following traditional yoga principles. "Ananda Yoga" was created by Paramhansa Yogananda's disciple Swami Kriyananda. The poses, philosophy and history stem from Paramhansa Yogananda's lineage and teachings. Ananda Yoga classes are $10 each. Drop in or pre-register for the class online on our events page. Class passes are offered for $80 for 10 classes (which equals to $8 a class)
Energy Medicine Yoga (EMY) is a mix of hatha and short flows, available to all levels. Within the yoga postures are healing techniques and practices that help clear out stuck energy, pain, tension, stress, fatigue, mental fog, anxiety, depression, negative emotions...etc. Energy Medicine techniques are derived from Chinese Medicine, Reiki, Pranic Healing, Donna Eden's original techniques and general energy healing practices. EMY addresses the chakras, aura, meridians, acupressure energy points, radiant circuits, electrics and more. This style of yoga was created by Lauren Walker, who took Donna Eden's teachings and merged them into a yoga practice that made sense and accessible for all. EMY is taught the last Wednesday of the month by Shaefeather Windsong. Shae is also an Ananda Yoga teacher and also includes affirmations and energization from her Ananda Yoga training.

Meditation can help us cope with grief, loss, moods, negative emotions and a sense of lack by relaxing the body and calming the mind, and can be a healing process that gradually and naturally transforms emotion into an innate and intuitive feeling of our well-being, security, comfort and confidence. Learn to relax body and mind, awaken intuition and experience greater joy and creativity in daily life. Taught by Ananda Meditation teachers. View our events calendar for upcoming classes.
